Bio

Daniela Yunker was born and raised in Ulsenheim, Germany, which is located in southern Germany in the state of Bavaria. She attended Hotelfachschule Pegnitz for 3 years and in May of 2009 she was awarded the Fachfrau für Euro-Hotelmanagement; which is the German equivalent of a Hospitality Management Degree and qualifies her for a management position in the international hospitality realm. She was recruited for a management training program at the Renaissance Battle House Hotel & Spa in Mobile, Alabama. During her first year, she was awarded the title ambassador of the month and earned a promotion to Front Desk Supervisor. Daniela was promoted further to Front Desk Manager in 2009. While there she implemented many successful programs that benefitted the hotel’s finances and generated payouts for the associates she was leading, such as the upsell program. She was named the Renaissance brand initiative ambassador at the hotel level and was nominated for the Alabama Hospitality Stars of the Industry award multiple times. In 2016, Daniela received a promotion to serve as Director of Front Office at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel. While there, she was awarded Manager of the Quarter and Manager of the Year in 2017 and received several nominations for Alabama Hospitality Stars of the Industry. Daniela’s Front Desk team achieved the #1 score in check-in experience for the entire Marriott Renaissance brand under her leadership in 2018.

While serving in these leadership positions within the hotels, Daniela attended the University of South Alabama and Double majored in English Literature and German Language. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded a Bachelor’s of Art degree in May of 2016.

After completing her Bachelor’s, Daniela pursued an Alternative Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in German Language from the University of South Alabama where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in May of 2021.

After the completion of her master’s degree, Daniela was hired as the German Instructor at Barton Academy for Advanced World Studies. There, she established a chapter of the Junior Delta Epsilon Phi German Language Honor Society and maintains an active German Club. She also participates in Barton’s running club.

Daniela is currently working on a PhD in Global Leadership with an orientation in Organizational Leadership at Troy University.

Daniela is happily married to her husband Adam of Spanish Fort, Alabama. They have two children, Lukas (7 years old) and Markus (5 years old).
